Spindrift, A Collection of Poems, Songs and Stories for Young Children | Early Childhood Educational Resource Book
KINDERGARTEN, 1st GRADE RESOURCE
One of Wynstones’ six books compiled for parents, homeschoolers and professional educators to use working with young children, Spindrift contains songs and verses that celebrate daily life with stories from different cultures.
These are a great addition to circle time, story time or music time for young children and are extremely popular in Waldorf early education programs and Waldorf-inspired homes.
First published more than twenty years ago, these books are in their third edition, now reedited and with much new material added. In addition, the music has been comprehensively edited, with most songs now in the scale of D-pentatonic, which is particularly suited to pentatonic lyres and may be played on any traditional seven-note or twelve-note instrument. Each volume includes an enlightening introduction by Jennifer Aulie on music in the “mood of the fifth.”
The cover is illustrated in watercolors by David Newbatt. Spindrift contains at least 156 poems, 29 songs and 43 delightful stories.
