Pretend Play Props – Felted Rocks
These 100% organic wool felted “Stones” were made in Nepal through Fair Trade to be used for a variety of reasons, such as pretend play boulders or stones, pretend play food, dryer “balls”, pin cushions, felting needle cushions, or whatever else your imagination can think up. (Think small world play with different ecosystems!)
Our little ones even decided to remove them from their castle battle between dragons and knights where they were using them as scenery props and stones for the catapult and repurpose them as “baked bread and sweet bread” during their pretend kitchen play. The next day, they used them to act out a math gnome story using their gnome house, math gnomes and fairy peg dolls. The “boulders” originally were the mountains the gnomes traversed to get the “crystals” to add, subtract, divide and multiply, but ended up also being a counter top for crystals, a stage for announcements and in their version, “an asteroid from outer space!” Later that night, our youngest set up two together to help him “hold up his Crazy 8 playing cards” at the table. This is obviously a great open-ended prop or toy to have available for your children. (I also love them for nature and holiday table props.)
