From Wee Things Fiber Arts comes this complete DIY peg doll craft kit with which to make one mermaid peg doll and felt clamshell bed for your child’s imaginary play!
There is nothing more satisfying than creating hand-made toys for your children from all natural materials. This kit provides you with detailed, illustrated directions and templates as well as all the materials necessary to guide you through sewing your own mermaid peg doll and felt seashell bed.
Made of four pieces of felt, the bed is lined with pink and super sturdy. The peg doll can tuck inside to take a nap, or it would be a wonderful hanging necklace for saving summer treasures if you added a piece of yarn.
LEVEL 2 KIT
This is a Level II kit, recommend for older children with previous sewing experience or novice adults.
The directions include basic assembly directions for beginners and more detailed embroidery stitches for experienced crafters. The pattern is 5 pages long with beautiful hand-drawn illustrations and text. The included Stitch Guide will walk you through every step!
The boxed kit includes:
- 3.5” x 8” piece of pink felt (for shell interior and bodice)
- 3.5” x 7“ piece of white felt (for shell exterior)
- 1.5” x 7“ piece of green felt (for mermaid tail)
- Two hanks of cotton embroidery floss
- Peg doll with wool hair already attached
- Embroidery needle
You will need your own:

SMALL PARTS WARNING FOR KIT AND FOR FINISHED PEG DOLL
Because the pieces are small, this project is a Wee Things Level II Kit, recommended for novice adult crafters (or experienced kids over age 12 who already have some basic sewing skills down). Finished peg doll is also not appropriate for children under 3 years.
