Gateways: A Collection of Poems, Songs and Stories for Young Children | Early Childhood Educational Resource Book
KINDERGARTEN, 1st GRADE RESOURCEÂ
One of Wynstones’ six books compiled for parents, homeschoolers and professional educators to use working with young children, Gateways contains fairy tales and material for mornings, evenings and birthdays. Great for circle time, story time, music time or celebrations with young children, Gateways is extremely popular in Waldorf early childhood homes and programs.Â
First published more than twenty years ago, these Wynstone books are in their third edition, now re-edited and with much new material added. In addition, the music has been comprehensively edited, with most songs now in the scale of D-pentatonic, which is particularly suited to pentatonic lyres and may be played on any traditional seven-note or twelve-note instrument. Each volume includes an enlightening introduction by Jennifer Aulie on music in the “mood of the fifth.”
The cover is illustrated in watercolors by David Newbatt. Gateways contains at least 21 poems, 32 songs, 7 beloved fairy tales, 36 different birthday verses and music for mornings or evenings.Â
