This is a hand-carved, high-quality, dense hardwood wooden scoop with a handle. Use it for rice play, bean play, sand play or any other sensory bin play.
Artisans use hand-tools to carve and shape solid pieces of olive wood carvers into these pretty wooden scoops that are the perfect size for little hands. You can still see the telltale marks of a hand carver’s tools, making each one unique.
Sturdy enough to hold up, but light enough for children to hold and carry with the beautiful warm, smooth and solid texture of real wood. This is a beautiful hand scoop for children to use in spare parts play or the play kitchen too where it may become anything!
KEEP EXTRA AROUND
We also keep a few extra in our kitchen for dry toddler snacks and baby food bowls. The handle comes in handy if you are letting them toddle around with their snack or if you are holding the bowl at the high chair.

**These are created from olive wood harvested from roots and discarded limbs from other woodworkers making larger pieces. Occasionally, they have an interesting char mark to go along with the dark veining grain so characteristic of olive wood. It really adds to the character and sensory sight and touch of the bowl. We included a photo of a bowl with a char mark so you can see how that might look. Each bowl is unique.
CARE
- Hand wash only, dry right away
- Do not leave submerged in water
- Not recommended for water play
- Occasionally rub with beeswax or a plant-based oil, such as olive oil, to maintain sheen and viability
